TOBA TEK SINGH: Faisalabad’s Chak Jhumra police busted a kidnappers’ gang and arrested five of its members on Saturday. The suspects had abducted a young man, Hamza Shahzad, from Chak 189-RB on June 14 and set him free after receiving Rs5 million ransom from his parents. Madina Town SP Kamran Asghar told a press conference on Saturday that the investigation team traced the gang through geofencing and use of modern technology. He identified the five arrested suspects as Sher Ali and Shoaib of Nankana Sahib, and Khurram, Shahbaz and Rehman of Faisalabad. He said raids were being conducted to arrest the sixth suspect Habib of Sialkot. Giving details of another busted gang of robbers, he said they were involved in 11 robberies in Mansoorabad, Madina Town and People’s Colony. They had snatched Rs6.6m from the people as soon as they came out of the bank after withdrawing cash. He identified the suspects as Islamul Haq of Nawab Shah, Sindh and Murtaza, Nasir and Yasir of Gojra.
