CHINIOT: A man was arrested by the Rajoa police for torturing and causing the death of a donkey. Sharafat Ali, a resident of Kot Ahmad Yar, was arrested in a case registered against him under Section 429 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The incident unfolded when Sahib Bibi, a household worker who relied on her donkey for earning a livelihood by using a donkey cart to transport material on rent, set her donkey free for grazing. The donkey wandered into Sharafat’s crops which enraged Sharafat, and he resorted to beating the donkey with sticks and rods.The repeated acts of torture resulted in the donkey’s death.
