Lahore: According to the sources of Daily Notable, Representative of Transparency International Kashif Ali Sheikh visited the Central Police Office and met IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar. DIG IT Ahsan Yunus, DIG Headquarters Humayun Bashir Tarar, DIG Establishment Zeeshan Asghar, AIG Admin Amara Athar and other officers were also present. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that during the public survey, transparency International and other organizations should also bring forward modern police apps and services. IG Punjab said that the Punjab Police has aligned the crime control and service delivery into two separate sectors to meet the modern requirements. Police image has been improved by Service and Protection Centres, 1787 Complaint Centre, Police Service Apps and Complaint Management System. Dr. Usman Anwar said that in the last 5 years, more than 01 crore 30 lac citizens have benefited from the police related facilities under the modern mechanism from the Police Service Centers and not a single case of corruption during the service delivery of the Police Service Centers was raised.
IG Punjab said that police service centers, public service apps, complaint systems are the reflection of the modern image of Punjab Police. He said that we are trying to change the outdated concept of police station culture and improve the overall perception of the police by using modern technology. Dr. Usman Anwar added that the Punjab Police is providing legal aid and guidance to the transgenders and other insecured sections of the society in addition to maintaining law and order, suppressing criminals and protecting the life and property of the citizens. Representative of Transparency International Kashif Ali Shaikh presented concrete suggestions to IG Punjab by highlight the positive character of police. IG Punjab also informed the delegation of Transparency about the working of Police Dashboard. At the end of the meeting, Dr. Usman Anwar also gave a commemorative souvenir of Punjab Police to Kashif Ali Sheikh.
