Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar is taking priority measures to encourage the Ghazis of Punjab Police. In this regard, IG Punjab invited the police official Tariq Mehmood to his office who got permanently disabled in encounter with dacoits. IG Punjab pinned rank of Head Constable on Ghazi Constable Tariq Mehmood and inquired about his treatment and welfare.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that brave personnel like Ghazi Tariq Mahmood are valuable assets of Punjab Police who performed their duties bravely at the cost of their lives to protect citizens. IG Punjab said that preferential steps including medical facilities would continue for the treatment and rehabilitation of all brave and dutiful personnel who got injured so that they may recover as soon as possible and perform their duties with excellence. It is noteworthy that Head Constable Tariq Mehmood got injured in exchange of fire with dacoits in Gulshan Ravi Lahore. Due to shot of firing in spinal cord ,his lower limb got paralyzed.
