IG Punjab honored the families of 40 police martyrs with gold medals and 40 Ghazis with silver medals.
Cash prizes and certificates of appreciation were awarded to the police personnel who performed excellently during duty.
Awards were given to officers and personnel of Bahawalpur, Sargodha, Sheikhupura, Rawalpindi and DG Khan regions.
8 inspectors, 46 sub-inspectors, 17 ASIs, 3 head constables and 7 constables are among the award recipients.
50 officials of the Special Protection Unit were also given certificates of appreciation and 10,000 rupees each.

Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has said that the martyrs who died in the line of duty and the Ghazis are proud and valuable assets of department. In recognition of their eternal services, the department is honoring them with gold and silver medals. Dr. Usman Anwar said that these medals are a special honor from the department in response to the bravery, spirit of service and the Punjab Police will never forget the sacrifices of their brave martyrs. IG Punjab said that special measures have been taken to provide the best treatment for the early rehabilitation of the Ghazis, under which they have been provided treatment facilities in the best institutions, while every aspect including education, health and employment of the children of the martyrs has been ensured. IG Punjab honored families and relatives of 40 martyrs of Lahore Police Inspector Rana Shahid Hussain, Farooq Ahmed, Sub-Inspector Asghar Ali, Muhammad Yousuf, Muhammad Aslam, Ahmed Mukhtar, Abdul Rauf, ASIs Muhammad Amin, Muhammad Idrees, Muhammad Fayaz, Ghulam Mustafa, Nazir Ali Shah, Head Constables Allah Ditta, Muhammad Ashfaq, Dil Muhammad, Faisal Rasheed while Constables Zafar Iqbal, Ali Raza Nazir, Ghulam Murtaza, Rashid Minhas, Muhammad Atiq, Muhammad Khalid, Tanveer Ahmed, Zulfiqar Ali, Niaz Ahmed, Bashir Ahmed, Munawar Ali, Kamal Ahmed, Muhammad Bashir, Ali Khan, Muhammad Latif, Imtiaz Hussain, Ghulam Mustafa, Intizar Hussain, Muhammad Akram Mumtaz Ahmed, Nisar Mansha, Hafiz Muhammad Nadeem, Tipu Farid and Mubahsir Haroon with gold medals. Similarly, fourty Ghazis including Inspectors Rashid Amin, Rana Ayaz, Atiq, Sub-Inspector Nasir Khan, ASI Nazir Ahmed, Waris Ali, Asif Idrees, Head Constable Muhammad Amir Maqsood, Ehsan ul Haq, Faheem, Ghulam Mustafa, Constable Adnan Ashraf, Parvaiz Iqbal, Muhammad Siddique, Muhammad Latif, Ishtiaq Ahmed, Muhammad Riaz, Nazir Ahmed, Muhammad Fayaz, Shaukat Ali, Muhammad Sajid, Amjad Ali, Imran Ali, Muhammad Sarwar, Tanveer Ahmed, Muhammad Luqman, Naeem Anjum, Ghulam Hussain, Shahbaz Imtiaz, Zeeshan Ahmed, Muhammad Rizwan, Muhammad Ijaz Al Haq, Muhammad Kamran, Saifullah, Muhammad Arshad, Muhammad Ali, Sadaqat Ali, Syed Atif Raza, Aqeel Akram and Traffic Warden Fahad Hayat were awarded silver medals.
In addition, IG Punjab encouraged 131 officers including 50 personnel of Special Protection Unit with cash prizes and certificates of appreciation for their outstanding performance during duty. 8 inspectors, 46 sub-inspectors, 17 ASIs, 3 head constables and 7 constables of Bahawalpur, Sargodha, Sheikhupura, Rawalpindi and DG Khan regions and 50 officials of special protection unit were awarded 10,000 rupees cash and CC1 certificate each. IG Punjab directed the awardees to continue performing their duties with more diligence and conscientiousness than before. Dr. Usman Anwar said that it is a good tradition of the police department to encourage officers and personnel with excellent performance during duty and this tradition will be continued at all levels in the department. IG Punjab directed the personnel be on high alert for protection of citizens especially the Chinese citizens. IG Punjab stressed upon foolproof security measures must be ensured at the residences, offices and workplaces of the Chinese citizens. DIG Headquarters Humayun Bashir Tarar, DIG Patrolling Athar Waheed, DIG Special Protection Unit Tayyab Hafeez Cheema and other officers were also present on this occasion.3
