During the last 24 hours, Punjab Highway Patrol checked 56944 citizens and 25701 vehicles.
20 proclaimed offenders wanted in various cases and 17 court absconders were arrested.
During checking, 9 stolen motorcycles, one car, one Suzuki Bolan were recovered.

Under the supervision of Additional IGP, PHP Rao Abdul Karim, Punjab Highway Patrol is actively engaged protect the lives and property of citizens on the roads and the police teams are on high alert to protect the passengers and other citizens traveling on the roads. According to the details, during the last 24 hours, Punjab Highway Patrol checked 56944 citizens and 25701 vehicles across the province. During the checking, 9 stolen motorcycles, one car, one Suzuki Bolan were recovered. In the ongoing crackdown against proclaimed offenders, PHP played it's role and arrested 20 proclaimed offenders and 17 fugitives wanted in various cases against whom further legal action is being taken.
Additional IGP, PHP Rao Abdul Karim ordered the patrolling teams to make patrolling more efficient on the highways and said that in view of the extra load during the Eid holidays, they should be on high alert. He further directed that measures should be taken to avoid prescious human lives in traffic accidents as a result of overloading and over speeding. He emphasized that PHP should always strive to protect the life and property of the people, prevent accidents and ensure smooth traffic flow on all the highways of the province and also diligently perform the duties of the first response force in their beat areas. The Additional IG directed that protection of life and property of the people and selfless service is the motto of PHP under which prevention of crime on the roads and the protection and convenience of life and property of the citizens with spirit of jihad will remain continued.
