Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has paid tribute to the professional services of former SSP CIA Lahore Umar Virk and said that he has given new ways to the investigation department. Trendsetter and diligent officers like him are asset of Punjab Police. Dr. Usman Anwar said that Umar Virk was on the hit list of criminals and terrorist elements, but despite that he did not let his work decline and with his professional skills, he brought several high-profile cases to a logical end.
IG Punjab said that during the investigation of many cases, there was immense pressure on Umar Virk, he never compromised on merit and successfully worked out the cases and made the criminals convicted. Dr. Usman Anwar said that the investigation department has a key position in police working and Umar Virk name will remain among the best investigation officers of Punjab Police who has demonstrated his skills, experience, sincerity and dedication to work in a short period of time and achieved an important status. He further said that the professional career of Umar Virk is a beautiful example for the young officers who are part of the police force, following which they can achieve their unique position in the police service. He expressed these views while addressing the farewell ceremony of ex-SSP CIA Umar Virk on the occasion of his retirement at the Central Police Office today. Additional IGs, DIGs and other officers who participated in the event also appreciated the professional services of Umar Virk and said that former SSP CIA, Umar Virk name has been a symbol of fear for robbers, dacoits, bandits and criminals. However, Umar Virk has not only played a role in cracking down on crime by successfully tracing difficult cases, but has also brought to book criminals who commit serious crimes including dacoits, thieves and bandits. The officers expressed their views and said that officers like Umar Virk can play an important role in the training of young officers due to their valuable experience and outstanding skills. Retired police officer Umar Virk thanked IG Punjab for organizing the ceremony in his honour and said that my services for investigation, training and CTD department are available all the time. Retired officer, Umar Virk said that I will always be available if I am needed for any case or issue. Additional IGP PHP, Abdul Karim, DIG Headquarters Humayun Bashir Tarar, DIG Patrolling Muhammad Athar Waheed, DIG Tele and Transport Imran Ahmar and DIG IT Ahsan Younis and other officers were also present in the ceremony.
