Wanted criminal held after deportation from Japan

NAROWAL: Sialkot police arrested an accused wanted in various heinous crimes, including murder, attempted murder, kidnap for ransom etc, after bringing him back from Japan through Interpol red warrants. Sialkot district police spokesperson Khurram Shehzad said the accused, Shahid Javed, was wanted by the police for the last 15 years in dozens of cases of heinous crimes registered against him in different police station. He said the accused had escaped to Japan to avoid arrest, from where he had been running a crime network in Pakistan.

On the orders of Punjab Inspector General of Police Dr Usman Anwer, Sialkot District Police Officer (DPO) Mohammad Hasan Iqbal had contacted Interpol and got red warrant issued for the arrest of Shahid, he added. He said because of the red warrants, Shahid was deported from Japan and was arrested at a local airport. The spokesperson said that legal action has been initiated against the arrested accused and the police will soon complete the challan against him and submit it to the court. DPO Iqbal said the police will continue to arrest other accused wanted in various crimes and residing abroad, through red warrants. He added the police were using all the available resources and modern technology to arrest the wanted criminals.
