New police checkpost at Punjab-KP boundary

DERA GHAZI KHAN: A new police checkpost has been established at the Punjab-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial boundary to check the infiltration of militants and other criminals, on the orders of Inspector General of Punjab Police Dr Usman Anwar. District Police Officer Muhammad Rashid Hidayat inaugurated Hazrat Umar Farooq Chowki (post) on the Punjab-KP boundary on Friday. “To thwart the nefarious designs of militants, a modern checkpoint has been established,” the DPO said.

He said the outpost would help maintain law and order in the area and prove to be a milestone in providing protection to the locals. The DPO said that according to the instructions of the IGP the checkpost has been equipped with modern gadgets, including CCTV cameras, increased number of personnel and the latest arms and ammunition. Keeping in view the convenience of the police personnel, a mess and an accommodation facility has also been arranged.

The DPO ordered the personnel and officers to make their best efforts to fight crime, maintain law and order and deliver justice. He said the police had the power of the law and state resources to eradicate the anti-social elements and establishing the rule of law. He also also inspected the arrangements made at checkpost and briefed the officials regarding the orders of IGP Dera Ghazi Khan regional police officer.
