BAHAWALPUR: The south Punjab police claimed on Monday have arrested an under-trial prisoner who had escaped from custody at DHQ hospital Khanewal on Sunday. According to a press release issued here by south Punjab police PRO Ali Sukhera, prisoner Asif was brought to DHQ hospital Khanewal for treatment from where he managed his escape. However, after issuing an alert by south Punjab Additional IG Maqsoodul Hassan, the police with the help of geo-fencing managed to arrest him within 24 hours. After his re-arrest, he was lodged in the Khanewal police station, the release said.
