LAHORE: The police arrested three members of “Gang 102” after footage uploaded on social media showed them roaming on roads in a large group. There were reports that the students of various local college formed the gang and would beat schoolchildren and rivals. A police official said that the gang had 35 members, and they used to travel in a double cabin and other luxury vehicles to show their “strength”. He said the police received multiple complaints about the gang’s activities torturing students outside their schools.
Recently, he said, the gang went to a snooker club and beat young boys there. They got notoriety after the snooker club fight and later started roaming on roads to panic the road users, he said, adding that the Lahore capital city police officer formed police teams for the arrest of the gang members. The police officer said they were studying in various schools and some boys, and former members of the students’ unions also joined the group. He said three members of the gang were taken into custody in the wake of a complaint, and further raids were underway.
