Within the first week of Aamir Zulfiqar Khan's appointment as IG Punjab, there was a clear reduction in overall crime graph of the province.
By the effective performance of police teams, the overall graph of 15 calls, registration of cases and dacoity & theft was reduced.
According to Safe City records, the number of 15 calls decreased from 42,819 to 35,000 in a week.
The registered crime in all districts of the province decreased from 16431 to 13123.
There was also a significant reduction in dacoity, robbery and theft calls, with the number of calls decreasing from 6,540 to 5,771.
There was also a dramatic reduction in the registration of cases. The total number came down from 8842 to 6021.
IG Punjab orders the RPOs, DPOs to continue more strict crackdown to further reduce the crime rate.
On the instructions of Inspector General Police Punjab Aamir Zulfikar Khan, the police teams are busy in crack down against criminals and anti state elements across the province. Vigorous actions are being taken against the habitual and professional criminals involved in crimes including robbery, dacoity theft and extortion in all the districts due to which a clear reduction has been recorded in overall crime graph of the province. According to the details, during the first week after the appointment of Aamir Zulfiqar Khan, as IG Punjab, there has been a visible reduction in various categories of crimes across the province and a comparative analysis of the data has revealed the fact. After assuming the charge on December 22, he ordered the police to launch massive crack down on criminals across the province and according to Safe City records, 15 calls, registration of cases and calls of dacoity, robbery and theft have been reduced due to the effective performance of police. Spokesperson of Punjab Police said that according to Safe City records, the number of 15 calls decreased from 42,819 to 35,000 during a week. Similarly, the number of registered crimes in all districts of the province decreased from 16,431 to 13,123. There has also been a significant decrease and the number of calls related to such crimes i.e dacoity,robbery and theft has come down from 6540 to 5771. The registration of cases has also come down significantly and the total number of cases registered during a week has come down from 8842 to 6021.
IG Punjab Aamir Zulfiqar Khan has ordered the RPOs, DPOs to continue the crackdown more vigorously to further reduce the crime rate and to arrest habitual and professional criminals in all districts by raids on crime dens. IG Punjab said that the dangerous groups and criminal gangs involved in organized crime should be arrested and the zero tolerance policy should be continued against those involved in drugs, illegal weapons, street crime and hardened crimes. IG Punjab directed that the supervisory officers in all the districts should monitor the crackdown themselves, the report should be sent to the Central Police Office regularly.
