Acting Inspector General of Police Punjab Kunwar Shah Rukh has directed the police to be on high alert to maintain law and order in the province. Acting IG Punjab Kunwar Shah Rukh said that the police teams in all the districts of the province should perform their duties with more diligence and conscientiousness and ongoing crackdown on crime prevention should also be accelerated. Kanwar Shah Rukh directed that steps should be taken under comprehensive strategy for peaceful conduct of Pak England Test series in Rawalpindi and all resources should be used for the security of all foreign visitors including players and match officials. Acting IG Punjab directed that search, sweep and combing operations should be continued on a daily basis in the hotel, around the stadium and adjacent areas. In view of the march and the cricket match, an effective alternative traffic management plan should be chalked out and no roads should be closed unnecessarily. He also directed for deployment of additional police and traffic wardens. Acting IG Punjab emphasised upon strict action for arresting professional criminals involved in street and other heinous crimes. He issued these instructions while presiding over a meeting held at the Central Police Office today.

Acting IG Punjab Kunwar Shah Rukh directed to wreak massive crackdown against kites manufacturer,dealers and also usage of metallic kite strings across the province and bring the accused under law .He directed that Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Sheikhupura regions should take special measures against kite flying and the law breakers who fly kites at night should also be arrested. Acting IG Punjab directed that the anti-smog crackdown with the teams of the district administration and environment department should be expedited. He stressed upon extending assistance to other departments in their drive against vehicles emitting high smoke on the roads, factories and kiln owners for breach of rules. Additional IG CTD, Additional IG Special Branch, DIG Operations Punjab and other officers also participated in the meeting.
