On the directive of The Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, mutual cooperation and constant link between Turkish and Punjab Police is continuing to combat terrorism in the province and for this purpose various projects are underway to benefit each others in expertise and technology.
This was stated by the Inspector General of Police Punjab, Javed Iqbal while addressing a reception in honour of a five member Turkish delegation headed by Mr Ahmet PEK Director General of Turkish National Police at Police Headquarters, Punjab.
Fatih Inalkac, Yavuz Ozdemir, Ertugrul Senyigit, Engine Yilmaz, Remzi Guney were the members of the visiting distinguished delegation.
IGP said that C.M Punjab has visited Turkey in 2010. Turkey has been facing Terrorism since many decades and due to its strong determination, faith and utilization of modern technology, it has combated terrorism effectively. We, therefore should utilize Turkish experience, skill and abilities in this regard.
Provincial Police Chief said that 28 police officers who have got training in combating terrorism, handling of drugs & law enforcement from Turkey are diligently performing their duties in various sections of the Punjab Police.
IGP further said that elimination of terrorism in the province is his top priority. Addressing on this occasion Director General Turkish National Police Ahmet PEK assured his full cooperation and all support to Punjab Police.
Guard of honour was presented by a smartly turned out contingent of Punjab Police on the arrival of the Turkish visiting delegation at PHQ.
Later on, Addl. IG R&D Malik Khuda Bakish Awan briefed the delegation about the working of the Punjab Police. Punjab Police Chief presented Punjab Police Souvenir to the honourable guest. Senior police officers were also present on this occasion.
Earlier, on its arrival at Lahore Airport the delegation was received by Addl. IG Training Sarmed Saeed.
