Over 2,400 Eid Milad processions given security across Punjab

Inspector General Police Punjab Faisal Shahkar has praised the police force for ensuring fool-proof security arrangements on the occasion of Eid Miladun Nabi across the province. The IGP said the Punjab Police performed the security duties of 2,400 processions and 1,447 Mahafil organised across province due to which the citizens celebrated the birth of Sarkar Kainat Rahmatullah Al-Alameen in a peaceful manner.

He congratulated all the forces including Lahore Police, Traffic Police, RPOs, DPOs, Safe City Authority, Special Branch and CTD and said that he is grateful to the entire force who performed their duties in the field and offices. IG Punjab also thanked the Peace Committees in all districts and scholars for their cooperation during the security arrangements.

IG Punjab Faisal Shahkar said that Punjab Police will ensure fool-proof security arrangements for national and religious festivals in future and are taking all possible measures to maintain law and order situation and protect lives and property of citizens. The Punjab Police made special arrangements for the processions and Mahafil of Eid Miladun Nabi across the province and a total of more than 72,000 officials, officers and volunteers performed security duties at mosques, highways and markets and other places.

From the control room in the Central Police Office, the timings and security of the processions and Mahafil organised in all the districts were being monitored moment by moment, while the control room was also active at the district level in all the districts. Special measures have been taken while the mobile phone service remained closed in various districts and sensitive places of the province in view of the security arrangements.

Safe city cameras were used for monitoring the provincial capital while CCTV cameras were used in other districts of the province.The implementation of Loudspeaker Act was ensured with the support of Ulama while the field officers maintained the atmosphere of law and order through close coordination with the members of peace committees established at the district level.
