Inspector General Police Punjab Faisal Shahkar has taken notice of the incident of murder of 8 people at different places in the neighboring village of Sheikhupura and has asked for a detailed report from RPO Sheikhupura. IG Punjab directed that the senior officers should keep in close contact with the families of the deceased and ensure that justice is delivered on a priority basis. IG Punjab directed that the incident should be investigated from all aspects and the arrested murderer should be punished.
According to the details, eight people were killed with a sharp knife last night in Hachar, a village on the outskirts of Sheikhupura.DPO Sheikhupura Faisal Mukhtar said that the police have arrested the accused Faiz involved in the tragic incidents of murder. According to the preliminary investigation, the accused is a mental patient who killed all the persons in a single night with a sharp instrument and an iron rod. DPO Faisal Mukhtar said that the accused targeted people sleeping in the streets and fields at night. And the accused committed all the murders between 2am and 3am in the night when all the people of the village were sleeping. As soon as the incident was reported, DPO Sheikhupura reached the spot with a heavy contingent and the police cordoned off the entire area and started investigation. DPO Sheikhupura further said that the case will be brought to its logical conclusion as soon as possible by fulfilling the legal requirements.
