IG Punjab's order to tighten the security arrangements for the last matches of Pakistan England cricket series

On the instructions of IG Punjab, the number of security personnel has been increased, the security of players, team officials and foreign guests has also been beefed up.

IG Punjab Faisal Shahkar presided over a review meeting of Lahore Police regarding security measures for cricket matches

Inspector General Police Punjab Faisal Shahkar has issued orders to tighten the security arrangements for the last two matches of Pakistan England Cricket Series at Gaddafi Stadium.  IG Punjab directed that the number of personnel deployed for the security of matches should be increased and the supervisory officers should personally go to the field for administering the security arrangements. IG Punjab said that the security of players, team officials and foreign guests should be enhanced and uninterrupted monitoring of all routes including hotels, stadiums should be ensured.  IG Punjab directed that the Dolphin and Peru teams should ensure constant patrolling and foolproof security arrangements should be made during the movement of the players, but no road should be blocked unnecessarily.  IG Punjab, while giving instructions to maintain smooth flow of traffic around the stadium, said that best arrangements should be made for the security of cricket fans coming to watch the matches so that the citizens face minimum problems.  IG Punjab gave these instructions while giving instructions to the officers of Lahore Police in a review meeting regarding security measures for cricket matches at the Central Police Office today.

In the meeting, CCPO Lahore and DIG Operations, while giving a briefing on the security arrangements, said that the monitoring process is going on 24 hours with the Safe City cameras installed on the hotel and stadium route and according to the SOPs, a comprehensive strategy for the security of the matches is in place.CCPO Lahore requested the citizens that the fans must bring the original ID card with them to watch the cricket match.  He said that the cricket fans should reach the stadium before the match time and take care of the SOPs while cooperating with the security staff.  While giving a briefing in the meeting, it was said that 1000 traffic police wardens will be on special duty till late night. In the meeting held at the Central Police Office, CCP Lahore, Additional IG Operations, Additional IG CTD Additional IG Special Branch, DIG Operations Punjab, DIG Operations, DIG Investigation Lahore along with officers were also present on the occasion.
