IG Punjab Faisal Shahkar and Chinese Consul General Lahore Zhao Shiran participated in ceremony held at Central Police Office, Jiangsu Police Chief and senior Chinese higher ups participated through video link.
Inspector General Police Punjab Faisal Shahkar has said that it is very important to keep cooperation and working relationship active with police forces of neighboring countries for capacity building of police personnel, provision of modern equipment and crime prevention.  He said that with such measures, the officials are not only aware of the procedures and skills used in policing at the global level, but the duties of crime prevention, suppression of criminals and public security can be performed in an efficient manner.  IG Punjab Faisal Shahkar said that the MoU between Punjab Police and Jiangsu Police with China is a link in this chain under which both institutions will work together for the security of citizens, regional peace and social stability.  He expressed these views while talking to officers at the signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Punjab Police and Jiangsu Public Security Department of China at the Central Police Office today.
According to the details, steps are being taken to increase mutual cooperation between Punjab Police and t police of the friendly country China. In this regard, an MoU has been concluded between the Punjab Police and the Jiangsu Public Security Department.  The signing ceremony was held at Central Police office in which IG Punjab Faisal Shahkar and Chinese Consul General Lahore Zhao Shiren were present while Jiangsu Police Chief and senior Chinese officials participated through video link. It was agreed upon to enhance cooperation in crime prevention, public security and capacity building of officials. Bilateral cooperation for prevention of financial crimes, arrest of criminals and recovery of goods stolen abroad were also decided. Under the MoU ,  Punjab Police and Jiangsu  will work together to protect  constitutional rights of each other's citizens, investors, citizens, national institutions and officials' interests in their areas, and both institutions will cooperate and promote friendly relations so that the lives of citizens are protected.  Under the MoU, Punjab Police and Jiangsu Police General will ensure exchange of modern equipment and intelligence sharing to improve the quality of policing, while regular training courses will be held to increase the efficiency of personnel.  Other measures including mutual exchange of training and conducting officers will continue.
IG Punjab Faisal Shahkar said that Punjab Police's MoU with Jiangsu Police is an important achievement which will have far-reaching results and the measures taken under this MoU will lead to capacity building of officers and modernization of the force.    Chinese Consul General Zhao Shiren said that the Special Protection Unit is working diligently to provide the best security to Chinese citizens, experts and business delegations, which is worthy of praise.  Chinese Consul General Zhao Shiren said today's MoU will further strengthen mutual relations and cooperation.  Senior officers of Punjab Police and Chinese Consulate were also present at the MoU signing ceremony.  At the end of the ceremony, the slogan of Pakistan-China friendship was also raised.
