IG Punjab Faisal Shahkar chaired a meeting about Punjab Police Sports Board at Central Police Office

Inspector General Police Punjab Faisal Shahkar has said that athletes who have made the name of the department famous by showing high performance in sports competitions are valuable assets of the police department. All possible steps to provide them best opportunities and training facilities shall be ensured.  IG Punjab directed that all possible encouragement will be given to the sportsmen participating in the national and international level sports competitions while actions will be taken on priority basis for the timely promotion of sportsmen of the Punjab Police. IG Punjab directed the Director General Pakistan Police Sports Board to organize sports competitions at the district and region level regularly as per the annual schedule and take steps to utilize all available resources for the training and practice of athletes. IG Punjab said that sports competitions play an important role in maintaining the mental and physical health and fitness of the force, so officers should ensure more measures in personal interest to improve the performance of police athletes. He expressed these views today while presiding over a meeting about the Punjab Police Sports Board at the Central Police Office. In the meeting, the action plan for the promotion of sports in the Punjab Police was considered, while the representation of the police force players in national and international level competitions including training, availability of resources was also discussed.
Director General Pakistan Police Sports Board Sahibzada Shahzad Sultan and Chief Sports Officer Ghazi Muhammad Salahuddin while giving a briefing to IG Punjab said that the players of Punjab Police have represented the country in other important sports including kabaddi, volleyball and Punjab Police won 24 medals in national level competitions. IG Punjab said that the players of Punjab Police are not less than anyone in their abilities, only they need better training, available facilities and improve the quality of practice for which measures will be ensured under a systematic strategy. IG Punjab directed that the players should continue to work hard and practice to improve their performance and the coaches should also provide all possible guidance and support to the players while performing their duties well. Director  General Pakistan Police Sports Board Sahibzada Shahzad Sultan, Additional IG Welfare and Finance Farooq Mazhar and Chief Sports Officer Ghazi Muhammad Salahuddin were present in the meeting.
