CCPO assures citizens of speedy crime detection process

LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Ahmad Raza Tahir, while talking to citizens belonging to different walks of life that called on him at his office on Tuesday, said that he had given directions regarding making crime detection process more effective. He added that the city police was working diligently for maintenance of law and order across the city.
He said that for the first time in the history of Lahore Police, a total number of 500 stolen vehicles and motorcycles were returned to their rightful owners.
He ordered police officers to ensure prompt provision of justice and solution of problems to the masses. He said, “Providing service to the people should be the foremost duty of all officers, and dealing with peaceful citizens in a respectful manner is a rule that should never escape their minds.”
He said that those police officials indulging in corruption or bothering citizens or not registering cases on genuine complaints would not be tolerated.
He appealed to the citizens to immediately report to the CCPO office in case any police official refuses to solve their rightful complaints or asks for bribe.
He said that elimination of crimes from the city was the topmost priority of his police team, while a comprehensive strategy was also being chalked out for eradication of street crimes across the city.
The CCPO further informed the citizens that Lahore Police had been directed to take timely legal action on receiving any accurate information and dereliction of duty on part of any police official would be dealt with strictly.
