Punjab Police to set up help desks for overseas Pakistanis
LAHORE-On the instructions of Punjab Inspector General of Police Javed Iqbal to provide prompt and efficient policing services to Pakistani expatriates a separate police help desk will be established in three cities of the province.
Addl IG Research & Development Malik Khuda Baksh Awan disclosed this while briefing the media at the Police Headquarters Punjab here on Thursday.
He said initially in the help desks would be set up at the offices of DPOs of Jehlum, Sialkot and Gujrat adding that they would be perational round-the-clock.
He said later on this pilot project would be expanded to other cities of the province. “A team of the dedicated police officials will be posted on these help desks. All requests, complaints, from overseas Pakistanis, received by them would be responded within shortest possible time”, Awan added.
He said a record of the complaints received thorough phone, email, fax there would me maintained. He said in order to build confidence of the people in the police force the IGP has issued 18-point code of conduct. He said the violators of the directives would be awarded apt punishment as per Punjab Employees Efficiency, Disciplinary and Accountability Act, 2006.
