Instructions of IG Punjab to make fool-proof security arrangements for Independence Day celebrations and programs across the province

On the instructions of Inspector General Police Punjab Faisal Shahkar, in view of the arrival of August 14, the Punjab Police has tightened its braces for strict security arrangements across the province.  On the special instructions of IG Punjab Faisal Shahkar, the police will be in action against law breakers so that the families coming to all public places including parks can celebrate the Independence Day in a peaceful environment.   IG Punjab has directed all the supervisory officers of the province to strictly deal with one-wheeling, aerial firing and rioting on the streets on Independence Day and take legal action without discrimination.  IG Punjab directed that a zero tolerance policy should be adopted against those who engage in hooliganism, harassment of women. He stressed upon taking strict action against the accused involved in such incidents and putting them behind the bars.  IG Punjab directed that lady personnel will be posted for the protection of families and women visiting recreational places, especially parks.  He directed the RPOs and DPOs to form special squads to prevent one-wheeling in all cities of the province, including Lahore, and to take legal action against workshop owners who remove silencers from motorcycles. IG Punjab directed that extra personnel and special security arrangements will be made between August 13 and 14 and those who block roads unnecessarily and create problems for citizens will be dealt strictly. IG Punjab has issued these instructions to all the supervisory officers of province regarding security arrangements for the Independence Day celebrations.
IG Punjab while giving instructions to the officers regarding fool proof security arrangements for the celebrations and programs of the Independence Day across the province, said that a special plan should be adopted for the peaceful conduct of all the programs of the Independence Day in the provincial capital Lahore.  He emphasized that in Rawalpindi, Multan, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and other big cities, the best arrangements should be made for the Independence Day rallies and other programs and action should be taken without discrimination against those who display aerial firing, fireworks and weapons.
