Reviewed the security and other arrangements of the main procession of Ashura Day, also met the members of the peace committee and the organizers of the procession.

Inspector General Police Punjab Faisal Shahkar and Chief Secretary Punjab Kamran Ali Afzal visited the field to review the route and security arrangements for the main procession of Ashura Day and inspected the security arrangements near Karbala Gamay Shah. The two officers reviewed the process of monitoring routes of procession from Safe City Mobile Command Vehicle and also met the members of the Peace Committee and the organizers of the procession. IG Punjab Faisal Shahkar said that the main processions of Ashura Day across the province including Lahore are proceeding peacefully on their traditional routes and foolproof arrangements have been made for security of processions as well as participants of Majalis . IG Punjab said that for the security of women mourners, lady officials are performing their duties in the field, while the security personnel are diligently performing their duties on all the routes including the procession route, adjacent buildings. He added that with grace of Allah Almighty, hard work of the police teams and joint efforts of the government institutions, the 10th of Muharram will pass peacefully. Chief Secretary Punjab Kamran Ali Afzal said that the district administration is using all resources for guidance of the mourners participating in the Majalis and processions, while the best arrangements have been made with close coordination with the organizers of the procession, peace committees and all schools of thought. The aim is to provide all possible comfort and security to the mourners. Additional Chief Secretary Home, CCPO Lahore, Commissioner Lahore, CTO Lahore, DIG Operations and other officers were also present on this occasion.
