Inspector General Police Punjab Faisal Shahkar has taken notice of the traffic jam due to the rush of tourists in Murree and has issued orders to deploy additional personnel. IG Punjab said that along with the security duty of Muharram, special attention should be given to help and guide the tourists. IG Punjab directed that CTO Murree and other senior officers should be active in the field and flow of traffic on any highway should not be disrupted. Moreover, special arrangements should be made to deal with fog. IG Punjab directed that immediate action be taken against those who park illegally and wrongly on Mall Road and other busy highways. Faisal Shahkar directed that the entry of vehicles exceeding the capacity in Murree and Guliyat should be ensured as per the SOPs.

IG Punjab directed that RPO Rawalpindi Murree should make special arrangements under personal supervision in view of the increasing rush of tourists during the holidays. CTO Murree Naveed Irshad said that there is uninterrupted flow of traffic on all main highways of Murree. PC Bhurban Road, Lower Topa Road, Jhika Gali, Kaldana Road are experiencing unusual traffic pressure, additional personnel have been deployed. CTO Naveed Irshad further said that 7600 vehicles have entered Murree since morning, Murree Traffic and Tourism Police are taking all possible measures to help and guide citizens and ensure smooth flow of traffic.
