Inspector General Police Punjab Faisal Shahkar has said that the best arrangements should be made for the security and convenience of pilgrims coming from all over the country on the occasion of the annual Urs of Hazrat Baba Fariduddin Masood Ganj Shakar. IG Punjab said that the employees posted on security should perform their duty with the spirit of service and public safety and priority measures should be taken for the convenience of women and elderly pilgrims. IG Punjab said that the security arrangements of Urs Hazrat Baba Fariduddin Masood Ganj Shakar as well as Ashra Muharram should be kept in mind and foolproof arrangements should be made as per the SOPs issued for the security of all the Majalis  and processions. IG Punjab directed that for the security of the main processions and Majalis of Ashura  day, strong measures should be taken under a comprehensive strategy and the instructions issued by the Ministry of Interior and the provincial government regarding Muharram security.
IG Punjab directed that CCTV monitoring and aerial surveillance of sensitive Majalis  and processions should be ensured and supervisory officers should ensure close coordination with scholars, peace committees, civil society and personalities of all schools of thought so that no untoward situation could spoil the environment of peace. He expressed these views today while presiding over a high-level meeting at the DPO office Pakpattan and giving instructions to the officers and officials on the visit to the Darbar  of Hazrat Baba Fariduddin Masood Ganj Shakar.
According to the details, IG Punjab Faisal Shahkar visited Pakpattan and reviewed the security arrangements for Muharram and Urs of Hazrat Baba Fariduddin Masood Ganj Shakar. While giving a briefing to IG Punjab, DPO Pakpatan Naseeb Ullah Khan  said that more than 1300 officers and personnel of Pakpattan Police are performing round-the-clock security duties. Direct monitoring is going on with 160 CCTV cameras on all roads leading to Darbar Hazrat Baba Farid. IG Punjab Faisal Shahkar also went to Darbar Baba Farid and reviewed the working of the officers and personnel posted on duty. IG Punjab visited the control room established at Darbar Baba Farid and observed the monitoring of CCTV cameras and checked the measures taken for the convenience of pilgrims coming to Darbar Baba Farid from all over the country. IG Punjab Faisal Shahkar visited the shrine of Hazrat Baba Fariduddin Masood Ganj Shakar and recited Fatiha. Before the Durbar visit, IG Punjab presided over an important meeting at DPO office Pakpattan. The meeting was attended by RPO Sahiwal and DPO Sahiwal, DPO Okara and other officers of the region. During the meeting, security arrangements and crime situation regarding Muharram in Sahiwal region were reviewed in detail and IG Punjab issued important instructions.
