CCPO tells police to respect citizens
LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ahmad Raza Tahir has directed the Lahore Police to ensure utmost respect to the citizens visiting police stations. The CCPO said that 90 percent transformation in “thana culture” could be brought about through soft and pleasant behaviour of policemen deputed at police stations.
The CCPO has also directed the Lahore Police to respect all the retired officers whether they belong to police, army or any other government department.
Tahir pointed out that it had come to his notice that whenever retired officers visited police stations, they were not accorded the respect and honour which they deserved.
He directed the police officers to ensure that all their subordinates display respect and honour to the retired police officers.
He said that it must be kept in view all the time that respect begets respect. He further directed that strict compliance of this policy should be ensured and warned that any police official, not implementing these directions, would be strictly proceeded against at the departmental level.
