IG Punjab directed the police to take special measures to prevent incidents of aerial firing on the announcement of by-election results.

The establishment of law and order should be ensured in all cases. Spokesperson Punjab Police

18 cases were registered on display of weapons and aerial firing, while 2 cases were registered on other incidents. 18 weapons were also recovered from  possession of  arrested persons.

Surty bonds were taken from 1497 people indiscriminately to avoid aerial firing during fighting in Punjab. Spokesperson Punjab Police

According to Punjab Police Spokesperson, IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan directed to take special measures to prevent incidents of aerial firing on the occasion of declaration of results of by-elections so that law and order is maintained at all times.  Spokesperson of Punjab Police said that on the day of the by-election, 18 cases were registered for display of weapons and aerial firing, while 2 cases were registered for other incidents and 18 weapons were also recovered from possession of arrested persons. Surity bonds were taken from 1497 persons in order to avoid fight and aerial firing across Punjab.
