on the occasion of Eid UL Azha , Inspector General of Punjab Police Rao Sardar Ali Khan has issued instructions to the field officers to protect lives and property of citizens. He directed to deploy additional force for security of cattle markets and big markets during Chaand Raat. IG Punjab said that the duration of patrolling of Dolphin, Peru and other patrolling forces in the vicinity of important highways and sensitive places should be extended. Rao Sardar Ali Khan directed that concrete steps be taken for the security of Eid gatherings as well as recreational places. IG Punjab directed CTO Lahore to take special measures to ensure smooth flow of traffic around cattle markets in Lahore. He said that traffic police officers in major cities including Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan and Gujranwala should be seen active in the field. IG Punjab directed that Punjab Highway Patrol and District Police teams should work together to ensure restoration of traffic on roads and major highways. IG Punjab urged that strict legal action be taken against the perpetrators of aerial firing and one-wheeling on the moon night . He also stressed upon taking strict action again kite flying during the Eid holidays. IG Punjab issued these instructions to all the supervisory officers of the province regarding the security arrangements for Eid-ul-Adha.
IG Punjab directed the officers to keep a close watch on the activities of banned organizations in all the districts on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha and take immediate action against proscribed organizations which were collecting sacrificial hides and donations. IG Punjab directed to continue CTD and Special Branch search and combing operations. He directed the RPOs and DPOs to include martyrs of Punjab Police and their families in the festivities and also visit homes of martyrs.
