50 FIRs lodged against drivers

LAHORE–Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) SSP Syed Ahmed Mobin has said that over 50 FIRs have been lodged against those drivers, who caused road accidents by violating traffic rules and regulation during the current month.
He said in connection with ‘Preventing Accidents Campaign’ about 1192 challans were issued to overloaded vehicles while the traffic wardens have been issued strict directions to initiate legal disciplinary action against the violators.
In an official handout issued on Wednesday, the CTO said the wardens were discharging their duties in sizzling heat so the citizens should also extend their cooperation with the City police.
He, however, directed wardens to take due action against overloaded trucks, bull-carts, and other commercial vehicles.
