Punjab Inspector General of Police Rao Sardar Ali Khan has issued orders to expedite crackdown on hoarders and profiteers across the province.  IG Punjab has directed  supervisory officers of the province to take action  against hoarding and profiteering on daily basis . Rao Sardar Ali Khan directed the police officers to intensify the operations in collaboration with the district administration to curb mafia from  hoarding flour, sugar, ghee and essential commodities of common man . He stressed upon arresting the violators and bringing  them behind the bars immediately. IG Punjab has tasked DPOs, RPOs of all districts to crack down on personal surveillance while Special Branch has been tasked to conduct secret surveillance and identify violators. He said that hoarding and profiteering would be dealt iron handedly. 
Punjab Police Spokesperson said that the crackdown is  being carried out by Punjab Police across the province. He said that this year 2067 cases were registered and 2904 accused were arrested for violating hoarding and price control act in Punjab. In the provincial capital Lahore, 988 cases have been registered and 1865 people have been arrested for violating the hoarding and price control act.  Punjab Police Spokesperson said that police teams in all districts of  province are active against hoarding and profiteering and as per the orders of IG Punjab, all possible assistance is being provided to the district administration teams in the operation.
