IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan's notice of death of accused in police custody in Bahawalpur
Incident Report sought from RPO Bahawalpur, DPO Bahawalpur ordered to inquire into all aspects of the incident.
DPO Bahawalpur suspended the SHO and the investigating officer and started the inquiry.

Punjab Inspector General of Police Rao Sardar Ali Khan has taken notice of the incident of death of accused in police custody at Bahawalpur Cantt police station and demanded a report from RPO Bahawalpur. IG Punjab directed DPO Bahawalpur to inquire into all aspects of the incident. He said that torture or killing in police custody is not acceptable. On the direction of IG Punjab, DPO Bahawalpur has started the inquiry by suspending the concerned SHO and the investigating officer and in the light of the inquiry, strict departmental and legal action will be taken against those responsible.
