Inspector General of Police Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan has said that in order to maintain law and order across province, counter-operations against criminals should be intensified. Rao Sardar Ali Khan directed that the security of sensitive installations, religious places of worship, educational institutions and foreign nationals be re-examined and intelligence-based operations against anti-social elements be continued on a daily basis so that banned organizations and the saboteurs could not succeed in their nefarious aims of disturbing public order. IG Punjab directed that in view of the recent incidents, security should be heightened across the province and monitoring of proscribed organizations should be made more effective. IG Punjab said that the facilitators of banned organizations, including terrorists and extremists, should be brought to book and strict implementation of all laws enacted in the National Action Plan must be ensured. Rao Sardar Ali Khan said that the process of checking and monitoring at inter-district and inter-provincial check posts should be expedited and CTD and Special Branch teams should speed up intelligence based and combing operations. IG Punjab directed that the process of monitoring the entrances and exits of major cities including the provincial capital should be intensified and all the teams should remain on high alert. IG Punjab issued these instructions to the officers while presiding over a meeting on law and order situation in the province. The meeting was attended by Additional IG CTD, DIG CTD and other officers of Counter Terrorism Department. During the meeting, Additional IG CTD gave a briefing on the operations being carried out against anti-social and extremist elements. Upon which IG Punjab directed to keep aye on movement of fourth schedule persons and also ensure strict implementation of devised SOPs. IG Punjab directed that in order to maintain inter-faith harmony, strict ban on broadcasting of hate speech and violation of Loudspeaker Act should be ensured and those involved in illegal activities should be brought to book and strict punishments should be meted out to them.Rao Sardar Ali Khan said that the role and services of CTD in eradicating terrorism from the province are commendable, officers and officials should work perform their duties of safety of lives and properties of people with same spirit and dedication.
