On the orders of IG Punjab, Punjab Police mobilized against violators of One Dish and Marriage Function Act across province.
This year, 480 cases were registered against the Marriage Function Act and One Dish and 916 people were arrested in all over the province.
In Lahore, around 106 cases were registered and 59 persons were arrested for violating the Marriage Function Act.

On the direction of Inspector General of Police Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan, operations are being carried out in all the districts of the province on priority basis for violation of One Dish and Marriage Function Act. Law breachers are being rounded up for aerial firing, sound system act and one dish violation. IG Punjab has directed that special teams be formed for weekend operations in Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan and other major cities. IG Punjab has stressed upon providing every possible assistance to district administration and also furnish detailed action reports to the Central Police Office. Rao Sardar Ali Khan said that those violating the rules laid down in the Marriage Function Act do not deserve any sympathy and strict legal action should be taken against such violators irrespective of their social standing and designation. Spokesperson Punjab Police said that during the current year, violations of One Dish and Marriage Function Act have been reported across the province. While 480 cases have been registered against them, 916 people have been arrested. He said that 234 cases were registered against aerial shooters across the province, 466 persons were arrested. Similarly, 147 cases were registered against violators of Sound System Act and 402 persons were detained. Under violation of One Dish, 55 cases were registered and 41 persons were arrested. Spokesperson Punjab Police said that totally 106 cases of violation of Marriage Function Act have been registered in Lahore and 59 persons have been arrested and the operations are being intensified. Punjab Police spokesperson further said that on the direction of IG Punjab, action would be taken against the violators of One Dish and other laws at wedding ceremonies across the province this week as well and accused of such offences shall be taken behind the bars.
