Police teams across the province are cracking down on metallic kite strings and kite makers on the orders of Inspector General of Police Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan. IG Punjab has directed all the supervisory officers of the province to arrest culprits involved in the manufacture, sale and use of metallic strings and kites and bring them to justice. In this regard, Punjab Police, while conducting operation in Vehari, have caught a large network supplying kites and metallic and chemical strings.
According to details, Vehari police have sealed the factory by seizing a large network supplying kites and metallic and chemical strings across the province. police teams headed by DPO Vehari raided and took legal action against the factory which manufactures kites and metallic strings in Melsi Tehsil. DPO Vehari Muhammad Tariq Aziz said that kites worth Rs 100 million and metallic strings and other items have been recovered from the factory. He said that the kites and strings produced in the factory were supplied and smuggled in different districts of Punjab and abroad while the records of agents involved in online business of selling kites have been seized from the factory. DPO Vehari said that a case has been registered against the factory owner and other staff and 8 accused have been arrested from the factory. DPO Vehari Muhammad Tariq Aziz further said that on the direction of IG Punjab, operations are being carried out on priority basis to protect precious human lives from kite and metallicl strings. DPO avowed that those who manufacture, buy, sell and use metallic strings and kites will be brought to book. DPO Vehari Muhammad Tariq Aziz requested the citizens to report 15 in case of kite flying in their vicinity, immediate legal action would be ensured.
