Lahore police arrested accused Abid immediately after the incident. weapon and vehicle used in the incident were also recovered.
The dead included Ghulam Hussain ( father) Asiya (mother), Raheela (sister) Humayun (maternal nephew) father-in-law Aslam and Shagufta ( aunt )
According to the preliminary investigation, the accused is addicted to ice (meth). The accused got aggressive and opened fire on his family and in-laws with automatic weapon.
Investigation should be completed at the earliest and accused should be punished. IG Punjab
Punjab Inspector General of Police Rao Sardar Ali Khan has taken notice of the gruesome incident of killing of six persons in Green Town area of Lahore and sought a report of incident from the Acting CCPO Lahore. IG Punjab directed Lahore police officers to reach the spot immediately and ensure strict legal action be taken against the accused. IGP directed to provide justice to the family members on priority basis.
According to details, a tragic incident of killing of six persons took place this morning (Friday) at PCSIR College Road Amir Chowk and Shiraz Town Mohalla Joyianwala in Green Town area of Lahore. Acting on a tip-off, police arrested Abid, accused of the tragic murder, and recovered the weapon and vehicle used in the incident. SSP Investigation Imran Kishwar, SSP Operations Mustansir Feroze, SP Saddar Operations and Investigation Police officers, forensic teams and a heavy contingent of police rushed to the spot after receiving information and gathered evidence. The accused shot dead four members of his family in PCSIR while two persons were killed and one was injured in Shiraz Town Mohalla Joiyanwala. A total of seven persons were targeted by accused. Six people were killed and one was injured in the incident However, Dolphin Team 350 received a call from Emergency Helpline 15 and foiled attempt of accused to escape. The Dolphin team arrested the accused from College Road. A rifle was recovered from vehicle of the accused. The deceased have been identified as Ghulam Hussain, 60, Asiya, 55, Raheela, 32, 15 year old brother in law Humayun, father in law Aslam, aunt Shagufta. The accused also injured his mother in law Rani Bibi .Dolphin police rounded up accused in response to call on 15. According to the preliminary investigation, the accused was addicted to ice (meth). The accused is under further investigation. IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan has directed that senior officers of Lahore Police should keep close contact with the affected families and complete all stages of investigation immediately and the accused should be punished.
