Departmental accountability in Punjab Police tightened / Three Officers Dismissed
IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan fired three DSPs for corruption and abuse of power.
DSPs Saifullah Bhatti and Ahmed Sajjad Cheema used to support the gang involved in stealing oil from the supply line of Oil Company.
DSP Ziarat Ali Khan had changed the investigation of the murder case by forging signatures.

Inspector General of Police Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan has issued orders to dismiss three DSPs on charges of abuse of power and corruption while on duty. According to details, the process of departmental accountability in Punjab Police has been further tightened and black sheep involved in illegal activities are being expelled from the department. IG Punjab dismissed DSP Saifullah Bhatti and DSP Ahmed Sajjad Cheema on corruption charges. DSP Saifullah Bhatti and DSP Ahmed Sajjad Cheema used to shelter oil theft gangs. The accused revealed the involvement of these officers during the interrogation on arrest of gang. DSP Saifullah Bhatti was currently posted in Chiniot while DSP Ahmed Sajjad Cheema was posted in Faisalabad.
IG Punjab fired both the officers after allegations of corruption were proved. IG Punjab also dismissed DSP Ziarat Ali Khan for exceeding his powers. Ziarat Ali Khan, while posting in Nankana Sahib, had forged the signature of Chairman District Standing Board and changed the investigation of murder case from forgery. Ziarat Ali is presently posted as DSP Traffic Police Headquarters. IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan dismissed three DSPs for corruption and abuse of power.
IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan said that internal accountability has been implemented in the police department under the policy of reward and punishment. He said that strict punishment in police force is very important to improve performance of force and any officer or official found to be involved in professional negligence or any illegal activity will be expelled from the police department. Rao Sardar Ali Khan said that secret sting operations are also being carried out in police stations and offices, corruption is not tolerated in any case, strict action will be taken against the officers and officials involved. IG Punjab further said that citizens should contact 1787 if they have any complaints about police officers and personnel.
