On the direction of IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan, security plan has been issued to maintain law and order situation in the province during Ramadan.

On the direction of Inspector General of Police Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan, arrangements have been made as per security plan to maintain law and order situation in the province during Ramadan. Spokesperson of Punjab Police said that full security would be provided to all religious places and citizens of the province during the holy month of Ramadan. In this regard, 18942  Officers and personnel will be on duty for security of 28581 mosques,2228 imambargahs and 411 religious places across province whereas lady police personnel will also be deployed for the security of major  mosques, imambargahs and minority places of worship.  Spokesperson of Punjab Police said that CCTV cameras, walk-through gates and metal detectors would also be used for the security of sensitive mosques and imambargahs.  More than 4,000 private guards and more than 44,000 volunteers will also provide assistance with cooperation of mosques and Madrassas.   Spokesperson of Punjab Police said that Dolphin, Peru and other teams of district police would be on duty for security and patrolling of mosques, imambargahs and other places during Sehri, Iftar and Taraweeh.

  Spokesperson of  Punjab Police said that more than 5,000 police personnel, including ladies police  would be on duty to protect mosques and imambargahs in the provincial capital Lahore. Similarly, 110 teams of police response unit (PRU), 307 teams of Dolphin squad and   vehicles of 84 police stations will be on patrol duty during Sehri, iftaar and trahwee in Lahore.   Punjab Police Spokesperson said that on the direction of IG Punjab, the supervisory officers would conduct regular field visits to check the security arrangements and additional personnel would be on duty during Iftar to maintain the flow of traffic on the busy highways.  According to the spokesperson of Punjab Police, crackdown will continue in all districts along with district administration and special branch against sale and stockpiling of expensive items and search, sweep combing and intelligence based operations will be carried out in sensitive areas on daily basis.    The Punjab Police spokesperson further said that an atmosphere of law and order would be maintained through effective coordination with mosques and madrassas, district administration and religious scholars.
