Inspector General of Police Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan has said that the athletes who have made the name of Police Department famous by showing excellent performance in national sports competitions are valuable assets of the department and all possible steps are being taken to provide more facilities and resources to them. IG Punjab said that Kabaddi is a cultural sport of Punjab in which he was happy to see good performance of police personnel. Rao Sardar Ali Khan said that all resources would be utilized in Punjab Police for the promotion of sports and encouragement of athletes. IG Punjab said that the problems of departmental promotions of police players would be resolved on priority basis and every officer would be given his due right without any delay. Rao Sardar Ali Khan congratulated the players and coaches of Punjab Police Kabaddi team for securing third position in National Kabaddi Championship. He directed the Director General of Police Sports Board to provide more facilities and resources to the players involved in all sports while the coaches should provide all possible guidance to the players for their excellent performance in the upcoming competitions. He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held in honor of Punjab Police Kabaddi team at Central Police Office. IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan encouraged the players of Police Kabaddi team with cash prizes and certificates for securing third position in National Kabaddi Championship. The Punjab Police Kabaddi team had won the third position and bronze medal in the 42nd National Kabaddi Championship. The prize winning athletes are from PHP, Dolphin, SPU, Okara, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Faisalabad and Khanewal Police.
IG Punjab commended all the players for their excellent performance in the Kabaddi tournament and said that it was an honor for the Punjab Police to have so many players in the national Kabaddi team. He directed the players to continue their practice with full dedication and brighten the name of the country and the nation by performing brilliantly in the competitions held on international level. Additional IG Establishment, Director General Police Sports Board, Additional IG PHP, Additional IG Welfare and Finance, Additional IG Logistics, DIG Headquarters along with other officers were also present on the occasion.
