IG Punjab directed to conduct special training course for all Punjab Police drivers
To save Punjab police vehicles from accidents, Inspector General of Police Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan has issued orders for special training of police drivers. IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan said that two-week special training course would be started from this month and police drivers of all districts would complete this special training session in phases. Rao Sardar Ali Khan said that in the first phase, two master trainers from each district will conduct the said training course in Motor Transport Wing Punjab and these master trainers will be given refresher course on other modern practices including physical and psychological tests. IG Punjab said that after completing the training course, the rest of the drivers will be trained in phases in the districts. Rao Sardar Ali Khan said that after the drivers, special training would be started to enhance the efficiency of all the mechanics of Punjab Police so that the department could carry out the maintenance and repair work of the available vehicles in an efficient manner. He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting on departmental affairs of the Motor Transport Wing at the Central Police Office.
During the meeting, DIG Telecommunication and Transport Punjab briefed IG Punjab about the driver's training plan, on which IG Punjab issued orders to start it from this month. IG Punjab directed that the maintenance work of police vehicles used for patrolling and other official matters in all the districts should be done without delay. He directed all all RPOs, CPOs and DPOs to ensure regular inspection of police vehicles. He said that effective use of available resources would enable protection of life and property of the people and speedy eradication of crime and in this regard supervisory officers should play their role more effectively. The meeting was attended by Additional IG Welfare & Finance, Additional IG Logistics, DIG Tele & Transport, AIG Welfare & Finance and SSP MT among other officers.
