Lahore CIA police have arrested two shooters who opened fire on Punjab Assembly member Bilal Yasin. Giving details in this regard, the Punjab Police spokesperson said that Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar and IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan were personally supervising this high profile case and police teams worked day and night for about two weeks. Both the accused who opened fire have been arrested. The Punjab Police spokesperson further said that CCPO Lahore and DIG Investigation Lahore had formed 16 teams to trace and arrest the accused who were investigating the incident from all angles by scrutinizing all evidence. Punjab police spokesperson added that last night the CIA police, acting on a tip-off, raided 10 different places and finally arrested the accused after an covert operation in Shahdara area. Punjab Police spokesperson further said that both the accused would be produced in the court tomorrow morning for an identity parade.
Punjab police spokesperson told that Lahore police had earlier interrogated several suspects involved in the incident while both the main facilitators of the incident Sajid and Fakhar Alam arms dealer have also been arrested by the police. The Punjab Police spokesperson expressed that on the instructions of IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan, interrogation of other persons involved in the case is also underway.
It is pertinent to mention that on the night of December 31, two shooters riding a motorcycle opened fire on PML (N) MPA Bilal Yasin on Mohani Road Lahore, by which he got injured. IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan while appreciating the performance of Lahore police in arresting the accused directed that the remaining stages of investigation should be completed immediately and accused should be punished while fulfilling the legal requirements.
