Various projects are in progress in the Punjab Police...

In order to utilize the techniques and the expertise of the developed countries for apprehending terrorists and criminals and in time investigation, various projects are in progress in the Punjab Police Department in collaboration with those countries.

 

This was stated by Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera while meeting two different delegations of United Nations and German Police Department.

 

The first delegation of United Nations Office of Drug and Crime (UNODC) comprising of 4 members belonging to Norwegian and Switzerland Police Colleges were including Dag Storiken, Assistant Chief of Police, Tor Tanke Hotm, Deputy Director Police, Sir Hansen Thokle, Head of Department and Mark Downes, Head of international Security Sector.

 

Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera appreciated the efforts being rendered by the delegation for the installation of latest crime scene unit at district Gujrat along with the first respondent kit and other infrastructure. He also hoped that their cooperation will continued in starting the crime scene units in Sialkot and Gujranwala respectively. The delegation told the IGP that after visiting Sihala, Rawat and other police training centers besides their meetings with government officers and retired police officers, the proposals regarding the capacity building, strategic planning and the curriculum in training schools of Punjab police will be presented very shortly.

 

Meanwhile, Liaison Police Officer of German Federal Criminal Police Office, Klaus Weber also met with the Provincial Police Chief at his office.

 

IG Punjab told the German Police Officer about the Forensic Lab established in Lahore and the working of the Punjab police in detail. The German Police Officer also discussed the working pattern, HR and Police Budget of Germany. He also appraised the IGP about the procedure of investigation and training of the German Police department.

 

Later, IGP presented souvenir to the visiting delegates.
