The police are ordered to devise an Emergency Plan to cope with the incidents of robberies at jewellery shops and auto-lifting in the Punjab province. Only the officers with good performance and repute would be posted in Lahore while the policemen, who failed to control crimes would transferred out of Lahore. Only those police officers would be deployed in the provincial metropolis who would be able to improve the law and order situation in future.
Inspector General of Police Punjab Muhammad Habib-ur-Rehman expressed these view while presiding over a high-level meeting held to review the crimes and law and order situation in the provincial metropolis at Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh today.
CCPO, Lahore Aslam Tareen, DIG (Operations) Rai Muhammad Tahir, DIG (Investigations) Ali Amir, SSP (Operations) Babar Bakhat Qurashi, SSP (Investigations) Abdul Razzaq Cheema, and all the Divisional SPs, and DSPs of the Lahore City attended meeting.
The IGP stressed upon the police officer to devise an emergency plan to control the incidents of robbers and vehicle and motorcycle lifting. He also urged the police officer to adopt the crime prevention and deletion policy so that the people could be able to walks and work freely and without any fear.
The provincial police chief also directed the step up armed patrolling around the leading shopping malls, banks, and jewellery shops in their respective areas.
Muhammad Habib-ur-Rehman also directed the police officers to leave their offices and go in the fields for crime fighting so that the people of Lahore could feel themselves secure and safe. The IGP observed that if the Lahore police, comprising 26,000 policemen, are determined to root out the crimes from the society, the City would be become the most dangerous place for the criminals.
The Punjab Police Chief was informed during the meeting that the gang and network involved in bank and jewellery shops robberies have been traced and the gangsters would be arrested and exposed before the public very soon.
On this occasion, the IGP said that the officers with good performance would be rewarded while policemen having bad repute and poor performance would be taken to task and no negligence would be tolerated in this regard.
