A sixteen member delegation of Punjab Shia Leaders and Ullema met the Inspector General of Police Punjab Khan Baig at Central Poilce Office Lahore

IG Investigation Punjab, Muhammad Amlish, DIG Operations Punjab, Muhammad Farooq Mazhar, AIG Operations Punjab, Muhammad Waqas Nazir, PSO to IG Punjab, Muhammad Ali Naiko Kara and Haider Ali Mirza, Syed Khurram Abbas Naqvi, Syed Asad Abbas Naqvi, Syed Sadat Abbas Naqvi, Molana Waqar Naqvi, Saleem Bukhari, Akhtar Bukahri, Khawaja Basharat, Zeeshan Bhatti, Afsir Khan, Husnain Zaidi, Rana Majid, Liaqat, Aagah Abbas, Sadiq Hussan Karmani, Abu Zer Bukhari, and Asif Alvi were also present in the meeting.

The delegation apprised the IGP aftermath of Rawalpindi incident and problems being faced by the community in details.

Provincial Police Chief assured the delegation that no such instructions had been issued by the Government to Police Department to restrict and confined the Azaadari gatherings and processions in the province.

He further told that all their complaints and grievances will be redressed amicably and with mutual cooperation. He further added that all field Police Officers had already been passed instructions to follow the security plan of 10th Muharram across the Punjab till coming further orders, besides the regular monitoring of all Azaadari gatherings and processions by the security officials deployed for the purpose.

The delegation expressed their satisfaction over the security arrangements on 10th Muharram except Rawalpindi incident. They also assured the police Chief for their cooperation in this regard.

Keeping in view the security arrangements on the occasion of forthcoming Chelum of Hazarat Imam Hussain (R.A), IGP nominated three Police Officers as focal persons for constant coordination with the members of the delegation.
