Police told to find missing man
TOBA TEK SINGH, April 26: Pirmahal police have registered a case on the order of the Supreme Court about a man who went missing four-and-a-half months ago.
Humaira Riaz, a resident of Lahore, said police registered a case about the disappearance of her husband under section 365 of the Pakistan Penal Code. She said her husband was an employee of a private company, which installed water pumps. He was at work in January this year on the premises of Sarfraz Rafiqui Airbase in Shorkot and she had the last telephonic contact with him on January 5.
She said she contacted Amina Masood Janjua, who is leading a movement for the release of missing persons, four months ago and she filed a petition in the Supreme Court for registration of a case about her husband’s disappearance and his recovery.
Pirmahal police investigation officer Muhammad Akram said that according to the correspondence between PAF officials and the water pump installation company, Humaira’s husband Riaz Ahmad was interrogated when some pictures of PAF area were found in his cell phone, but he was released later. He said police were looking into the case.
