Vigil security in City
Lahore - Law enforcing agencies remained on their toes across the City on Friday with visibly heavy police deployment around Masajids during Jumma prayers as massive protest rallies were taken out against the desecration of Holy Quran by an American pastor in Florida church.
Religious and opposition political parties also staged several protest demonstrations in different parts of the City against the release of American killer Raymond Davis, who had gunned down two Pakistanis in January last.
Thousands of policemen were deployed around Masajids and Imambargahs to ensure foolproof security for Friday prayers while armed patrolling was also intensified in the sensitive areas to keep the situation under control.
The police also set up more than 300 pickets in different parts of the City to keep a vigilant eye on the activities of the miscreants. Similarly, heavy police contingent also provided security cover to the protest rallies taken out in different parts of the City after Friday prayers.
