To avert the incidents like Kot Radha Kishan, in future, strict action will be taken against those criminals who involved in murder of innocent people in the name of religion and all those anti-state elements who indulged in pasting of I.S (Daaish) Posters and Stickers and trying to harass the people, across the Punjab, decided by the IGP, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera while presiding over the RPO Conference held at Central Police Office, Lahore.
Addl: IGP Punjab, Naseem-ul-Zaman Siddiqui, Addl IG Welfare and Finance Sohail Khan, Addl IG Training Capt (R) Muhammad Usman Khatak, Addl IG Special Branch Punjab Dr. Arif Mushtaq, Addl IG CTD Punjab Muhammad Tahir, Addl IG PHP Javed Islam, CCPO Lahore Capt (R) Muhammad Amin Wains, RPO Sheikhupura Abubakar Khuda Bukhsh, RPO Gujranwala, Syed Dilawar Abbas, RPO Rawalpindi, Akhtar Umar Hayat Laleka, RPO Faisalabad, Capt (R) Ehsaan Tufail, RPO Sargodha Ahmed Ishaq Jehangir, RPO Multan Amjad Javed Saleemi, RPO Sahiwal Faisal Shahkar, RPO Bahawalpur Muhammad Tahir Rai, and RPO DG Khan Rahmat Ullah Khan Niazi, all CPOs and DPOs of the province attended the conference.
The conference decided to set up IGP Inspection Wing and IGP Complaint Cell in Central Police Office. Inspection Wing will conduct the monthly inspection of all district vehicles, weapons and other inventories, whereas, any officer / official of any rank can approach to IGP directly through IGP Complaint Cell and can register his complaint or grievance or any kind of reservation.
It was also decided in the conference that police residential societies will be setup in Punjab to facilitate the low cadre officials. Snap Checking instead of permanent pickets will be encouraged to ensure the arrest of hardened criminals and the campaign against the cars, motorcycles unauthorizedly using the tinted glasses, green number plates should be expedited with a view to control the street crime.
It was also decided in the conference that the Shop Security Act must be strictly implemented to stop the dacoities at jewelry shops, banks and petrol pumps and in this way the installation of CCTV Cameras, Security Alarms, appointment of security guards must be ensured. And no violation in this regard will be accepted.
The conference decided that the practice of arresting innocent people in various cases must be stopped and verification of I.D Cards and residential addresses will be compulsory while registering the cases against nominated persons.
It was also decided in the conference that strict action will be taken against all those police officers / officials who indulged in any kind of criminal activity. IGP also directed the field officers to consider the transfer requests of their subordinates sympathetically.
The situation of crime in all districts including murder, attempt murder, kidnapping for ransom, dacoity, police encounter besides the holding of morning parades at police lines, its tours, holding of orderly rooms and progress of development projects was reviewed in detail.
The provision of the salary to the widows of shaheeds must be ensured within a month, decided in the conference.
Provincial Police Officer (PPO) also sought proposals from the RPOs to bring City Traffic Units working in Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Multan under the administrative and financial control of Addl: IGP Traffic, Punjab.
IG Punjab appreciated the performance of the Punjab Police Force for maintaining the law and order during Moharram and particularly appreciated the efforts of Lahore Police for arranging foolproof security during religious congregation at Raiwind recently.
It was also decided in the conference that the Moharram security SOP will be followed on the forthcoming Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain R.A.
I.G appreciated the performance of DPO Kasur, Chiniot, Attock, R.Y. Khan, Bahawalpur, Pakpattan and Sahiwal and also announced appreciation certificates for them. It was also decided that rupees 01 lac will be given to those field officers who deliver extra ordinary performance.
