Following the protest call given by different organizations in the wake of Rawalpindi tragedy, Inspector General of Police Punjab, Khan Baig has ordered the Lahore CCPO and all other field officers to put into practice a comprehensive security strategy to maintain law and order across the province on Friday.
In a circular issued to all the police headquarters, IGP Khan Baig has directed the officers to ensure foolproof security for the rallies, processions, government installations, Masajids, Imambargahs, and markets.
The police are also directed to deeply monitor the activities of the anti-state elements, involved in spreading hate-material and provoking extremism.
The police are also directed to intensify armed patrolling on important roads besides ensuring snap-checking of vehicles at all the entry and exits points of the big cities. The police are also ordered to step up search operations around the public places, at bus stands, hotels, inns, and guesthouses as well.
The senior officers are directed to keep close liaison with the religious leaders, local representatives, and the members of peace committees in the respective districts and divisions to improve the law and order situation across the province.
The police are also directed to strictly deal with the miscreants, who are found involved in violating the ban on the use of loudspeaker, provocative material, display of arms, and wall-chalking.
