LAHORE, July 17: The CIA police claimed on Wednesday to have arrested 22 accused involved in the murder of a person hospitalised at Jinnah’s emergency ward some two months ago and the killing of two persons and injuring as many in the court of an additional sessions judge about a month back.
According to a press release, CCPO Chaudhry Shafique Ahmad taking notice of delay in the arrest of criminals involved in these incidents gave the target of apprehending them to CIA SP Muhammad Umar Virk who constituted a special team headed by Kotwali DSP Khalid Abu Bakar.
The team arrested 18 accused -- Allah Rakha, Arshad, Nazim, Maher Ali, Jahangir, Allah Wasaya, Ghulam Abbas, Rafaqat Ali, Riaz, Zulfiqar Ali, Arshad Ali, Munir Ahmad, Jahangir, Faqeer Hussain, Ashraf, Muhammad Husain, Bashir Ahmad and Mushtaq Ahmad, for their involvement in the murder of Kashif Abbas at the emergency ward of Jinnah Hospital.
It also nabbed four criminals -- Nadeem Liaquat, Waqar, Moon and Liaquat Ali – for murdering Jamat Ali and Nisar Ahmad and seriously injuring Rizwan Ahmad and Arshad in a court.
