On the instructions of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera, Finger Print Bureau (FPB) has been shifted from Central Police Office Lahore to Police Training College Chung, Lahore after 12 years, aimed at to modernize the investigation system, completion of timely challans of various cases and to ensure the provision of timely justice to the complainants.
The shifting of FPB at Chung Training College enabled the bureau to utilize all Forensic facilities available at training college. All 373 staff officers / officials of the bureau including 01 DSP, 44 Inspectors, 205 Sub Inspectors, 60 ASIs, 23 Head Constables and 40 Constables were also shifted. FPB will directly work under the command of Commandant Police College Chung.
According to the vision of PPO, a proposal regarding the change of bureau’s name is also under consideration, besides, establishing the new Sections in bureau including, Finger Print Section, Question Document, DNA Finger Print, Blood Typing, Crime Scene Photography, Electronic Data Collection, Physical Evidence Collection and First Responder Training.
