300 POs held, 400 vehicles seized in Jan

BAHAWALPUR-During January, the CIA Police and Excise Department Bahawalpur collected a revenue of Rs1.2 million and impounded 400 unregistered vehicles while the district police arrested 300 proclaimed offenders including two included in the top-10 list of wanted persons, and busted two criminal gangs.

The police also recovered thousands of liters of liquor, Charas and illegal weapons, besides retrieving valuables of millions of rupees, said District Police Officer Sohail Habib Tajik talking to the media.

He said that in the year 2012 a total of 900 cases of girl’s kidnapping were registered from which 300 cases proved fake in the initial investigation while 19 of the remaining 600 cases were those in which girls were abducted without their consent. The remaining 581 cases were those in which girls eloped with paramours with their own consent, he said.

A Christian girl left for Karachi to celebrate Valentine’s Day but after 6 hours of creating the drama of abduction she was traced.

Similarly, a girl living in the hostel of a private college in Model Town went with her friend.
